Canary Island airports see 5.1% drop in passengers

A total of 15.5 million passengers passed through Canarian airports in the first semester of 2013, which represents a 5.1% decrease when compared to figures from the same period last year (2012) according to figures published by AENA.

Slight decrease in Canary Islands unemployment

The total number of unemployed people in the Canary Islands fell last month (June 2013) when compared to May (2013) by 3,308 people which represents a decrease of 1.12% bringing the total number of unemployed in the Canaries to 293,054 people according to figures.

Tourist spend increases by 8% in the Canary Islands

International tourists have spent €4.644 million in the Canary Islands in the first five months of the year (2013), an increase of 8% over the same period of 2012, according to figures provided by the tourism expenditure survey Egatur, prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.

Foreign tourist spend increases in the Canaries

Foreign tourists have increased their spend in the Canary Islands by 7% between January and April 2013 (compared to the same period in 2012), spending a total of €3.983 million while on holiday in the Canary Islands, according to a survey by Egatur published recently by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
