Fire destroys premises at Yumbo Centre in Gran Canaria

Up to seven premises at the Yumbo shopping centre in Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria have been destroyed by a fire that broke out in one of the venues in a fire that started at 08:20 this morning (Monday, 6th May 2013). No one has been injured in the blaze.

Canary Island employment figures for January 2013

number of unemployed people in the Canaries increased by 4,602 people in January 2013 when compared to the previous month of December (2012), this represents an increase of 1.60%, bringing the total number of unemployed people in Canary Islands to 289,517 people, according to figures provided by the Ministry of Employment.
