Blue MarlinDeep Sea Fishing, particularly from the ports of Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan is very popular.

Fishing seasons: Marlin and Swordfish in summer (June to September); Tuna in spring/autumn; bottom fish (sharks, rays, grouper, thornbacks, moray eel, bream, snapper, conger eel, maybe even tuna) in winter (October to March). Bottom fishing is usually done between October to April, with conger eels and rays being the largest potential catch.

Marlin fishing
The best time to encounter a blue marlin is June to September, many responsible boat trip organisers will also not kill the merlin but operate a tag and release policy. The blue marlin is the ultimate catch and the largest fish found in the waters off the Canary Islands and they can weigh up to 1000lbs. Hammerhead and blue sharks and barracuda are also possible at this time of year.

Day and evening trips are usually offered, with many of the crew speaking various languages and all the tackle will usually be included, you just need to bring yourself.

It is also possible for children to go to, if not to fish there is a possibility you will see dolphins and maybe even a whale!
